Johannes Lodewikus van Heerden, son of Johannes Lodewikus van Heerden and Anna Catharina Cornelia Jordaan, was born on May 10, 1846 in Cradock, Eastern Cape and died on May 15, 1909 in Middelburg, Mpumalanga at the age of 63. He married Louisa Petronella Cecelia Grobler (father’s great-aunt’s husband’s great-great-niece), daughter of Willem Isaak Grobler and Judith Magdalena Odendaal, in Cradock, Eastern Cape. She was born on October 8, 1852.
