Nicolaas Johannes Grobler, son of Nicolaas Grobler and Johanna Hendrina Combrink, was baptized on June 20, 1756 in Drakenstein, Western Cape. He married Cecilia Johanna Steyn (brother-in-law’s wife’s half-sister), daughter of Douw Gerbrand Steyn and Cornelia Potgieter, on March 28, 1784 in Tulbagh, Western Cape. She was baptized on April 22, 1770.

Nicolaas Johannes Grobler, son of Nicolaas Johannes Grobler and Cecilia Johanna Steyn, was born on August 3, 1786 and died on January 13, 1851 in Kleinfontein, Cradock, Eastern Cape at the age of 64. He married 2 times. The first time he married Johanna Hendrina Steyn (first cousin), daughter of Hermanus Steyn and Machteld Grobbelaar,. She was baptized on June 2, 1791 in Swellendam, Western Cape. The second time he married Maria Alberts on August 27, 1833 in Cradock, Eastern Cape. She died before December 31, 1859.

Willem Isaak Grobler, son of Nicolaas Johannes Grobler and Johanna Hendrina Steyn, was born on August 13, 1822 in Cradock, Eastern Cape and died on January 13, 1886 in Vaalplaat, Dist. Albert, Eastern Cape at the age of 63. He married Judith Magdalena Odendaal (great-grandfather’s wife’s great-niece), daughter of Johannes Samuel Odendaal and Johanna Elizabeth Botha, on August 12, 1838 in Cradock, Eastern Cape. She was born about December 1811 in Swellendam, Western Cape and died on October 30, 1901 in Elandsfontein, Dist. Albert, Eastern Cape.
