He was born on May 23, 1846 in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape and died on October 23, 1929 in Glen Almond, Barkly East, Eastern Cape at the age of 83.

Willem Jacobus Cloete, son of Cornelius Willem Petrus “Lang Kerneels” Cloete and Johanna Sophia Burgers, was born on June 5, 1872 in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape and died on November 1, 1937 in Barkly East, Eastern Cape at the age of 65. He married 2 times. The first time he married Jacoba Ritchie Erlank (mother’s great-uncle’s granddaughter), daughter of Andries Gustaf Erlank and Susanna Sophia Ritchie. Elsje Jacoba Cloete, daughter of Cornelius Willem Petrus “Lang Kerneels” Cloete and Johanna Sophia Burgers, was born on March 28, 1876 and died on January 31, 1946 in Zastron, Free State at the age of 69. She married Barend Francois Stevens.

Cornelius Willem Petrus “Corneels” Cloete, son of Willem Jacobus Cloete and Jacoba Ritchie Erlank, was born on April 30, 1899 in Barkly East, Eastern Cape and died on February 26, 1967 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal at the age of 67.
