Susanna Sophia Ritchie, daughter of Thomas Ritchie and Anna Elizabeth Marais, was born on July 13, 1827 in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape and died on May 26, 1887 in Sterkstroom, Queenstown, Eastern Cape at the age of 59. She married Andries Gustaf Erlank (third cousin once removed ascending), son of Andries Gustaf Erlank and Anna Maria Catharina Bisschoff, on January 11, 1847 in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape. He was born on June 13, 1824 in Sterkstroom, Queenstown, Eastern Cape.

Maria Elizabeth Erlank, daughter of Andries Gustaf Erlank and Susanna Sophia Ritchie, was born on April 10, 1849 and died on February 11, 1924 in Queenstown, Eastern Cape at the age of 74. She married 2 times. The first time she married Abraham Pretorius (mother’s father’s sister-in-law’s uncle’s grandson), son of Johannes Lodewikus “Louw” Pretorius and Engela Helena Lombard, on December 9, 1872 in Burgersdorp, Eastern Cape. He was born on July 4, 1834 in Tarkastad, Eastern Cape and died on November 2, 1895 in Grootvlei, Steynsburg, Eastern Cape at the age of 61. The second time she married Johannes Jurgens Lombaard after 1895 in Steynsburg, Eastern Cape.

Jacoba Ritchie Erlank, teacher (in 1897), daughter of Andries Gustaf Erlank and Susanna Sophia Ritchie, was born on August 27, 1866 and died on July 30, 1904 in Barkly East, Eastern Cape at the age of 37. She married Willem Jacobus Cloete (mother’s step-mother’s great-great-nephew), son of Cornelius Willem Petrus “Lang Kerneels” Cloete and Johanna Sophia Burgers.

Janet Elizabeth Erlank, daughter of Andries Gustaf Erlank and Susanna Sophia Ritchie, was born on October 28, 1868 in Burgersdorp, Eastern Cape and died on March 28, 1904 in Carolina, Mpumalanga at the age of 35. She married Albert Grobbelaar du Toit (great-grandfather’s uncle’s great-great-nephew), son of Petrus Jacobus du Toit and Louisa Maria Grobbelaar, before 1891 in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape. He was born on July 11, 1862 in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape and died on March 27, 1938 in Pretoria, Gauteng at the age of 75.

Cornelius Willem Petrus “Corneels” Cloete, son of Willem Jacobus Cloete and Jacoba Ritchie Erlank, was born on April 30, 1899 in Barkly East, Eastern Cape and died on February 26, 1967 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal at the age of 67. He married Johanna Hendrina Grobler “Babes” Welgemoed (great-great-grandfather’s wife’s great-great-niece), daughter of Hendrik Paul Welgemoed and Elizabeth Margaretha Welgemoed.

Willem Jacobus Cloete, son of Willem Jacobus Cloete and Jacoba Ritchie Erlank, was born in 1901 in Barkly East, Eastern Cape and died on March 23, 1981 in Aliwal North, Eastern Cape at the age of 80. He married Petronella Johanna “Piekie” de Villiers (uncle’s third cousin’s step-daughter), daughter of Roelof Stephanus de Villiers and Elizabeth Gertruida Catharina Groenewald, in Aliwal North, Eastern Cape. She was born on January 6, 1907 in Caledon, Western Cape and died on January 31, 1973 in Aliwal North, Eastern Cape at the age of 66.

Johanna Francina “Dollie” Cloete, daughter of Willem Jacobus Cloete and Jacoba Ritchie Erlank, was born on July 9, 1904 in Barkly East, Eastern Cape and died on October 31, 1985 in Pretoria, Gauteng at the age of 81. She married Gert Christiaan “Boet” Delport (niece’s mother-in-law’s fifth cousin), son of Gert Christian Jurgens Delport and Clementina Letitia Johanna Berry.
