Johanna Wilhelmina “Nancy” Mackerel, daughter of William John Mackerel, was born on March 11, 1818 in Cape Town, Western Cape and died on September 8, 1857 in Green Point, Cape Town, Western Cape at the age of 39. She married Carel Friedrich Joubert Watermeyer, son of Gottfried Andreas Watermeyer and Anna Catharina Carolina Poggenpoel, on July 19, 1838 in Cape Town, Western Cape. He was born on January 2, 1815 and died on May 16, 1901 in Forest Cottage, Wynberg, Western Cape at the age of 86.
