He married Johanna Jacoba Elizabeth Weber, daughter of Johann Valentin Weber and Johanna Magdalena Catharina Bredenkamp, on June 16, 1823 in Cape Town, Western Cape. She was baptized on October 4, 1799.

She married Daniel Jacobus Dippenaar, son of Michiel Christoffel Dippenaar and Maria Elizabeth Erasmus, on July 20, 1846 in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape. He was born on April 25, 1806 in Klein Sondagsrivier, Camdeboo, Dist. Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape and died on February 25, 1856 in Tweefontein, Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape at the age of 49.
