Lourens Jacobus Erasmus, son of Jacob Erasmus and Ester Bockelenberg, was born on March 8, 1774 and died on October 2, 1851 in Somerset East, Eastern Cape at the age of 77. He married 2 times. The first time he married Louisa Catharina Grobbelaar (sister-in-law’s mother’s half-sister), daughter of Coert Grobbelaar and Louisa Pienaar, on January 3, 1796. She was born on February 4, 1781 in Tulbagh, Western Cape. The second time he married Anna Margaretha Carolina de Villiers on May 14, 1836 in Somerset East, Eastern Cape.

Daniël Johannes Erasmus, son of Jacob Erasmus and Ester Bockelenberg, was baptized on September 15, 1776. He married Catharina Geertruyda Pretorius (sister-in-law’s father’s granddaughter), daughter of Hendrik Stephanus Pretorius and Geertruyda Grobbelaar, on October 23, 1796 in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape. She was born on May 24, 1782 and died on June 24, 1857 in Wildebeesfontein, Dist. Smithfield, Free State at the age of 75.

Willem Petrus Erasmus, son of Lourens Jacobus Erasmus and Louisa Catharina Grobbelaar, was born on October 23, 1812 and died in 1873 at the age of 60. He married Gesina Cornelia Dorothea Els on September 12, 1832 in Somerset East, Eastern Cape. She was born on October 24, 1812.

Hendrik Stephanus Erasmus, son of Daniël Johannes Erasmus and Catharina Geertruyda Pretorius, was baptized on September 16, 1798. He married Anna Susanna Smit (second cousin once removed descending), daughter of Jacobus Francois Smit and Johanna Jacoba Coetzer, on September 3, 1820 in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape. She was born on February 14, 1804 in Cradock, Eastern Cape and died on October 5, 1869 in Driefontein, Dist. Cradock, Eastern Cape at the age of 65.
