Jan Harmen Nieuwoudt, son of Gerrit Nieuwoudt and Johanna Steenkamp, was born on February 5, 1740 in Stellenbosch, Western Cape and died on January 12, 1822 in Clanwilliam, Western Cape at the age of 81. He married 2 times. The first time he married Maria Cecilia van Kerken (brother-in-law’s uncle’s great-grandson’s father-in-law’s mother), daughter of Gerrit van Kerken and Cecilia Vivier, on November 27, 1768. She was baptized on July 19, 1739 and died on May 27, 1770 at the age of 30. The second time he married Maria Margaretha Wolfaardt on June 27, 1773. She was born on October 26, 1754 in Wagenmakersvallei, Dist. Paarl, Western Cape and died on April 30, 1844 in Clanwilliam, Western Cape at the age of 89.

Regina Barbara Nieuwoudt, daughter of Jan Harmen Nieuwoudt and Maria Margaretha Wolfaardt, was born on December 16, 1774. She married Jan Harmse Steenkamp, son of Gerrit “Gert” Steenkamp and Hendrina Cecilia Kruger, on November 22, 1792. He was baptized on February 28, 1768 and died on December 28, 1848 in Klipfontein, Dist. Clanwilliam, Western Cape at the age of 80.

George Sebastiaan Nieuwoudt, son of Jan Harmen Nieuwoudt and Maria Margaretha Wolfaardt, was born on October 4, 1788 in Clanwilliam, Western Cape and died on August 8, 1856 in Blaauw Cypher, Kareebergen, Dist. Clanwilliam, Western Cape at the age of 67. He married Anna Margaretha Frederica Theron (nephew-in-law’s son-in-law’s sister), daughter of Daniël Johannes Theron and Johanna Francina Strauss, on April 6, 1816 in Tulbagh, Western Cape. She was baptized on January 10, 1796 and died on September 5, 1872 in Zakfontein, Fraserburg, Northern Cape at the age of 76.

Alida Carolina Steenkamp, daughter of Jan Harmse Steenkamp and Regina Barbara Nieuwoudt, was born on June 20, 1813. She married Schalk Willem Petrus Burger (aunt’s sister-in-law’s father), son of Jacobus Stephanus Burger and Hester Sophia van der Merwe, on November 15, 1829 in Cape Town, Western Cape. He was born calculated April 1, 1784 in Karnmelksvallei, Dist. Clanwilliam, Western Cape and died on June 16, 1868 in Walkraal, Dist. Fraserburg, Northern Cape.

Christina Alida Nieuwoudt, daughter of George Sebastiaan Nieuwoudt and Anna Margaretha Frederica Theron, was born on July 11, 1824 in Hantam, Northern Cape. She married Daniël Johannes Charl Theron (first cousin), son of David Johannes Theron and Francina Lodewica Johanna Jooste, on January 1, 1843 in Clanwilliam, Western Cape. He was born on February 25, 1821.
